Hello, this is Jeffrey Irwin and I am a photography student at Miami Ad School in Miami.
Currently I am interning at Miami Modern Luxury magazine. So far its been wonderful. I wish I was shooting a bit more for them, however, the assignments I do get are wonderful. I have mostly been shooting portraits, which I love doing, so I am happy. I have been shooting very interesting people , mostly artists and other people from Miami. The other day , I did get the opportunity to meet, and shoot Danny DeVito on a 157' yacht. It was an incredible experience and one that will not be forgotten. He was a great guy, and the experience made me feel more comfortable shooting celebrities. I believe the magazine trusts me and feels comfortable sending me on important assignments.
As far as school is concerned,I am getting a great education , and the school is preparing me for the real world. I am already comfortable with real world situations and have been paid for many jobs as well. The school is great with making connections and networking possibilities.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to participate in an event called the Miami Heart Gallery. This was an event where Photographers from around Miami were teamed up with children from around the Miami area who needed to be adopted. I was teamed up with a 13 year old boy and feel that the experience was well worth it. Fortunately, Miami Ad School had quite a few photographers that were able to shoot the children. Meeting the kids and seeing that my work may help significantly change the life of another child is heartwarming and gratifying.
