Featured Graduate
It's been quite a ride since I finished Miami Ad School's Fashion/Editorial Design Program 2 years ago! I was one of the first 4 graduates of the program, and can honestly say that I wouldn't be where I am now without having enrolled. Since I graduated, it's been all about building my book and taking it to the next level.
The portfolio I finished school with was good, but since then, it has been completely revamped, at least 3 times. So many students think
that once they finish school with the book they worked so hard to put together;their portfolio is complete.....
That's really just the beginning, at least in the fashion industry. After ad school, my book was finally good enough to get me some attention with some local magazines and clothes designers, but since then, it's been all about shooting, shooting shooting. It doesn't matter if there is no money involved, I have found great success through setting up my own photo shoots/fashion editorials and shooting them on spec, and then pitching the finished stories to magazines. That's how I got my first 2 fashion stories published within 1 month of graduating from Miami Ad School.
