  • GO TO SCHOOL IN HAMBURG

Hamburg is the perfect place to get started on Pop Culture Engineering

There’s no place like Hamburg. It is one of the top ten most visited cities in Europe – and once you’ve been here, you’ll know why. It’s full of museums, has more theaters than any other city in the world, an amazing nightlife and almost everybody speaks English. A terrific environment for pop culture and a young creative person who wants to take what’s happening this minute and mold it into wild, wonderful and unforgettable ideas.

And the Miami Ad School in Hamburg? It won the Future Lions and was awarded School of the Year in Cannes 2011 and 2012. The Australian “YoungGuns” named it School of the Decade. Hamburg’s students rake in the awards at all the major ceremonies every year (just check the statistics of every major student award show). The best instructors come here to teach: Creative Directors from Jung von Matt, Heimat, ServicePlan, Scholz & Friends, DDB, BBDO and many other well known agencies teach exactly what’s relevant and up-to-date in the industry. Then there are the two directors: Niklas Frings-Rupp won D&AD’s World’s Best Tutor Award and Oliver Voss was partner and Chief Creative Officer at Jung von Matt, Germany’s most creative agency. The list of their accomplishments is almost as long as their hair.

The sole occupant of a spacious 2,000 m2 building, the Hamburg school has been established for 10 years now and it offers a full-time study program (not just evening courses). The big plus: international students should have no problem getting a visa.

    Application Materials
  • Like many alumni, you’ll reap the benefits of the school’s worldwide creative network.

From your very first day at Miami Ad School in Hamburg you’ll know you’re in a unique and international environment. In addition to English and German, you may hear Spanish, Portuguese or Japanese. You’ll be in a global school associated with students of more than 30 different nationalities on campus. Courses are taught in English. And this will be just your first year at the school.

In your second year, you can travel the world. This is one of the great things about the school: it offers global locations where you can spend the second year of the program studying and interning: from New York to Stockholm, from Buenos Aires to Amsterdam, from San Francisco to Beijing; Paris, London, Dubai, Berlin and many other international cities.

This two-year program has revolutionized the European agency industry – our graduates are courted by every significant agency from Germany, Europe and all over the world. That’s how it has produced some of the best creatives worldwide: Menno Kluin, one of our first students, is now running DDB’s office in New York. Jens Pfau is Managing Director at Jung von Matt, Michael Schachtner is Group Creative Director at Heimat, Berlin, Siavosh Zabeti is an Art Director at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam and Timm Wettstein is Executive Creative Director at JWT Atlanta – to mention a few. Just imagine what the future has in store for you…

The school produces first rate graduates who are able to contribute from the first day on the job. That’s why you will find alumni from Miami Ad School Europe all over the world.

And last but not least: Germany, Europe’s No.1 advertising market, allows international students to work in Hamburg after finishing school.
