  • Interning in Brazil with Great Food and Samba DancingJess Shriftman working on briefs at Oglivy
Interning in Brazil with Great Food and Samba Dancing I'm in Sao Paulo now. Have been here for a little over two weeks. The people at the agency treat us so nicely.  Our director is cool (Anselmo Ramos) he gave us two agency briefs for now but he is also letting us work on D&AD and one show as well.  I am definitely happy there. Today was funny because they are writing an article in a Brazilian trade magazine about how Ogilvy has Miami Ad School interns so they needed to take a picture of us.  Well, for the picture, the four of us (3 huge guys and me) hop into this TINY shopping car and our CD Anselmo is pushing us.  It had all the people in the lobby laughing.

I've been soaking up the culture every chance  I get. And I'm trying to find a good place to learn how to dance Samba. The food here is AMAZING!! Everywhere you go there is a gourmet buffet but for cheap, its great. In the next couple of weekends we will take some trips to the beach. I'm looking forward to it.  I just wanted to say hello. I haven't forgotten about my Hamburg experience!  it was great!

Anyways you guys are the best
Jess

tell everyone that i say hello!
  • go to school in Sao Paulo

We invented the Beautiful Game. Now we invent another.

Sao Paulo? It’s crazy. A mixture of New York, Tokyo, Rome, Heaven and Hell. It has everything. Good and bad. What kind of music do you like? “MPB” What kind of food? What kind of fashion? “Patricinhas” Cars. Motorcycles. Buses. Smog. So, go to the beach; it’s only an hour away. Or walk over to Ibirapuera Park and listen to Rita Lee. You can find whatever you’re looking for and maybe whatever you’re running from.

Whatever else Sao Paulo may be, it’s likely the most creative city on the planet. The Brazilian agencies clean up in international awards. The clean dramatic visual approach of Brazilian advertising is now copied all over the world. But the Brazilians are still the best at it.
