Study and Intern in Amsterdam

Who would have thought such an interesting campaign could be done for funeral insurance.

The Axent Assignment:

The competition provides funeral services instead of providing funding for a funeral. Axtent wanted to communicate the benefits of personal freedom by choosing an insurance, which pays money instead of providing funeral services. With Axent your relatives can plan your funeral according to your personal needs and wishes.

"The Dutch clients appreciated our ideas which made this internship very fulfilling."

Are you a little bit Dutch?

"There is a reason that agencies like Weiden & Kennedy and 180 choose Amsterdam as their European hub. The Dutch already speak many languages and welcome different ways of thinking, meaning Holland has become a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. BeyenMeyer is a part of that movement. So if you're a little bit Dutch too then you'll feel very welcome."

- Lodewijk van der Peet, Creative and Managing Director, BeyenMeyer

"At BeyenMeyer we want to see initiative and ambition. You will work on real assignments, which you present to our clients. We set high standards that will prepare you to get a job. The real world is truly your classroom."

- Peter Hoitinga, Strategy Director, BeyenMeyer

Tips and tricks for staying in Amsterdam.

Seven things we learned that had nothing to do with advertising:

  1. Eat at Moeders. Bring a spoon and photo of your mother for a discount.
  2. The most underrated museum is the Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam. Always ask for a student discount.
  3. The Dutch like reservations for everything. Schedule accordingly.
  4. By bike you can get really close to the landing strip at Schiphol and watch planes as they fly 50 meters above you.
  5. If you like cats, visit Kattenkabinet: an art museum focusing on felines. Lovely experience.
  6. Bloemenbar is a cool place to sip some drinks in the city centre.
  7. Every monday is quiz night at Café Thijssen. They ask the questions in English. Regisration is on their Facebook site.

All we had to do was ask. The staff was happy to help or give a push if we were stuck on a project.
